This annual event focuses on budgetary and macro-economic challenges facing the EU and the euro area. Members of the European Parliament and experts from the European Commission will discuss economic trends and the contribution of the EU budget and the Next Generation EU recovery instrument to Europe’s economy. Topics for discussion will include Russia’s ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine, inflation and energy prices. Particular emphasis will be placed on the EU’s economic governance framework – soon to be revised – and EU-wide budgetary means for building resilience through investment in key areas, such as climate change and digitalisation.
