The Covenant of Mayors – Europe Office organised on the 13th of July to learn about the technical assistance opportunities for the creation of Energy Communities in Europe.
The webinar aimed to provide participants with a better understanding of all the socio-economic benefits (in terms of job and local value creation, tackling energy poverty, etc.) that come with an energy strategy that is oriented towards citizen energy and with a better understanding of the recent EU and national opportunities with regards to renewable/citizen energy communities.
We presented 3 technical assistance opportunities for the development of energy communities:
– From the Covenant of Mayors Europe
– From the Energy Communities Repository
– From the Rural Energy Communities Advisory Hub
We also heard stories from the ground on how energy communities can help improving the quality of life and support the cities in their path towards climate neutrality.
